Northern Lights over Lake Eugenia

Here are some shots of the Northern Lights over Lake Eugenia this summer.

I slept out in the car for a bit trying to see if they would get brighter, but it was a wasted effort.  I am fascinated by the stars, and what could be out there.  I am still working on my star photography skills, but I did get a couple of keepers this time.

I am sorry to say that I missed the Perseids Meteor Shower this year, the first time in a long time, but hopefully I will catch up next year.

Aurora Borealis over the lovely Lake Eugenia.

This second one is a lengthier exposure, trying to actually capture the movement of the earth and stars, creating a touch of trails.

Wildflower Lane

Bay of Fundy area, New Brunswick.

I have a knack for finding some of the most random country roads.  The ones that only the locals know.  I'm fairly certain that trait is inherited from my father who could find the unpaved way to go anywhere.

As I was exploring this area one morning, out with the dog for a hike, I came across this road.  I was in awe the length of the entire road.  The wildflowers were gorgeous.  Butterflies and hummingbirds were everywhere.  I think I walked for 20 minutes with a huge grin on my face.

Movie Review - Ice Road Terror

Ice Road Terror

The worst movie ever?  Well that's a little harsh, I haven't seen all the movies made to be able to make that distinction.

Found myself with a little of a lazy Saturday morning.  A rarity these days.  In the midst of getting ready for this afternoons wedding (here's hoping for a break from the rain) and catching up on some laundry, I decided to roam the channels is search of a filler.
I must say that Saturday morning programming leaves a lot to be desired.  Since I was not interested in the newest product that Vince was selling on the infomercials, the wrestling on the Olympics (I'm certain I will catch some flak for this, but an Olympic Sport? Really?) or reruns of Will & Grace, I opted for "Ice Road Terror".  I knew this was going to be a delightful romp right away.  I know that I can't be the only one out there that enjoys a bad movie, sometimes more than the good ones?

So the premise is - Ice road truckers in Alaska being attacked by dino-creatures.  How can it get any better?  Well I will tell you it does.  The campy script and ridiculous special effects had me laughing all morning.
Was it the bad acting or the bad script making it so horrible?  I would say a little from column A and a little from column B.  Acting and script were both sufficiently hilarious to put this movie on my Favorite Bad Movies List.

Oh my - I even love the cover - they should have included the godzillaesk-dino-creature to top it off.
Recommend?  Absolutely.  One of the best worst movies out there.

Maternity Shoot at Hogg's Falls

Well, this lovely young lady has had her bundle of joy, and her daughter is around 10 weeks now.  If you have followed my work, i have had the privilige of shooting this couple at this location before for their engagement shoot, and I also photographed their wedding.
Congratulations Rosie and Brett on your bundle of joy, and welcome to Mallory Avery :)

I adore shooting at the falls, it's just gorgeous.

The sun came out for a little peak at the end of the session.  The shutter button started to go a mile a minute trying to capture the gorgeous light before it snuck behind the clouds again.

Harvey Bank

While driving along the Bay of Fundy coastal drive, on our way towards Alma area to search out a certain lighthouse, we stumbled upon this area.  We never did get to the lighthouse we were looking for, but that's Ok.  This area was simply gorgeous with the setting sun.  We spent the evening driving random roads in the fields around this area.  It was great fun, and leave it to me to find the cowpath roads.  Glad we had the truck. More on this are to come, and I will post a few shots of the roads we found ourselves on as well

This panoramic is 5 photos stitched together, I wanted to show the entire basin of water.  Amazing!

The panoramic above was 5 shots stitched together.  I love love love the red clay in this area, and it's simply amazing to watch the tide go in and out.  I believe it was just starting to come back in for this shot.
